An Overview
World War One, also known as the Great War lasted from 28 July 1914 until 11 November 1918. Fought between the Allies and Central Powers, WW1 was the first war in which all of the world's great powers were involved. More than 9 million soldiers lost their lives to the war, never before had the world seen such bloodshed.
In particular, the Battle of Gallipoli had a strong impact on New Zealand. This website will give insight into New Zealand's involvement in the battle, and also the impact it had on the soldiers and society as a whole. I will also be analysing the outcomes of the Battle of the Gallipoli, and the different ideas the war presented.
